IRON MAIDEN Singer's Video Message For People Of Earthquake-Ravaged Christchurch

A video message of support from IRON MAIDEN vocalist Bruce Dickinson to the people of Christchurch, New Zealand following last month's 6.3-magnitude temblor which rocked the nation's second-largest city can be viewed below.

The official death toll from the February 22 disaster now stands at 161 people and authorities expect the number to reach about 240.

Seventy people were reportedly rescued from the rubble in the hours immediately after the earthquake, but no one has been found alive since the day after the quake.

According to GNS Science, the devastating earthquake was part of the aftershock sequence that has been occurring since the September magnitude 7.1 quake near Darfield, 40 kilometers west of Christchurch.
